Before submitting personal data to us, please read and understand this Privacy Policy ("Policy"). This Policy applies to Huawei websites, applications, products, and services that display or provide links to this Policy. Read this Policy carefully to fully understand the purposes for which we collect, use, and process your data.

This Policy describes how Huawei processes your personal data. However, this Policy may not cover all personal data processing scenarios. Information about the collection of product-or service-specific data may be released by Huawei in supplementary policies or notifications provided when data is collected.

Personal data means any data that, either on its own or jointly with other data, can be used to identify a natural person. You may need to provide your personal data when using our websites, applications, products, or services. The types of data we collect depend on how you interact with us. You do not have to provide your personal data to us. However, in some cases, if you choose not to do so, we may not be able to provide you with relevant products or services, or respond to or solve your problems.
Based on your consent, we will collect and use the personal data you provide or that is generated when you use our products and/or services, as well as your related personal data obtained from third parties, and promise to do so in a lawful and legitimate way and only when necessary.
If we need to use your personal data for purposes not stated in this Policy, or the information collected for a specific purpose needs to be used for another purpose, we will inform you in a reasonable way and ask for your consent before use.
1. Personal data you actively provide during the use of our products or services
To access DME IQ and use its basic functions, you need to register a Uniportal account and use it to log in to DME IQ.
(1) Feedback, service request (SR) creation for help, warranty renewal application, and for device replacement application
To better understand your use of this app, you can submit your feedback to us and ask for help by creating an SR. To provide you with better services, you can submit an application for device warranty renewal and device replacement. When you submit the above information, we will collect your name and phone number so that we can handle your feedback in time.
(2) Logs
Site deployment by scanning codes
When you select the partner role and scan a code for site deployment, the following information will be collected: Uniportal account, project name, personal email address, and device information (device model, ESN/SN, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and script run logs for host deployment). The personal email address is used for receiving the licenses of storage devices. The device information is used for device deployment.
Fault information
We may collect your device fault log information and application fault log information (including the access date and time, viewed and used application functions, application faults, and event information, such as errors, crashes, restarts, and upgrades).
When you use an account registered in the Huawei website account system to log in to the app, the app will use your account and password for login. After successful login, your nickname will be synchronized from the Huawei website account system and displayed. The account and password are only used for login authentication and are not stored.
2. Personal data from third-party sources
When you are a customer, we may collect and use your personal data from a third party (our partner) under your authorization. We promise to process your personal data in strict accordance with the contract signed with third parties and applicable laws and regulations. Please read the privacy policies and user agreements of the third parties carefully.
3. Data processed for other purposes
We may process your personal data for the following purposes based on the legitimate interests of us and third parties or to comply with and fulfill legal obligations:
(1) Troubleshoot when you send us error reports.
(2) Ensure the security of our products, services, and customers or users; execute and improve our loss prevention and anti-fraud programs.
(3) Comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, industry standards, and our policies.
4. Required permissions
(1) Message push
You can choose Settings > Message Notification on the DME IQ app to open the subscription page, select the message types, and subscribe to the message push service. If you have subscribed to the message push service and messages need to be pushed, the push token corresponding to the DME IQ app installed on your mobile phone will push the messages. If you do not want to subscribe to the message push service, choose Settings > Message Notification on the DME IQ app and deselect message types.
(2) Clipboard
When you copy and paste information in the DME IQ app, we will access your clipboard. We only recognize the clipboard content locally and will not upload the clipboard information to our servers.
(3) Camera
When you select the partner role and use the code scanning function, we need to apply for the camera permission from you. The camera permission will not be enabled by default. You can disable the camera permission in the settings of your mobile phone.
To ensure the correct operation of our website and application, we may at times place a small piece of data known as a cookie on your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a text file stored by a web server on a computer or mobile device, and the content of a cookie can be retrieved or read only by the server that creates the cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser or application. The text in a cookie often consists of identifiers, site names, and some numbers and characters.
Like most websites or Internet service providers, we use cookies to store data related to user preferences so that user experience can be improved. Cookies also enable websites or applications to save users' access information and save settings, such as the language, font size, and other browsing preferences for your computer or mobile device. This means that a user does not need to reset preferences for every visit. If no cookie is used, the website will treat you as a new visitor every time you load its web page. For example, if you are redirected to another web page from a website you have already logged in to, when you come back, the website will not recognize you and you must log in again. Huawei will not use cookies for any purposes not provided in this Policy. You can manage or delete cookies at your own preferences. For details, visit AboutCookies.org. You can clear all the cookies stored on your computer since most of the web browsers provide the option of blocking cookies. 1. Disclosure
Generally, we disclose your personal data only for the following purposes:
(1) To disclose authorized information with a specified third party.
(2) As a global company, we may disclose personal data with our affiliates for specific, clear, and legitimate purposes, and disclose only the data necessary for providing services.
(3) To disclose your personal data with a partner authorized by Huawei if some services are provided by the partner.
(4) To comply with applicable laws or respond to valid legal procedures. If we are involved in a restructuring, merger & acquisition, separation, bankruptcy, or liquidation lawsuit in a given jurisdiction, your personal data may be disclosed in connection with the transaction.
2. Third-party SDK
To offer you the message push function, we need to provide your personal data to third parties. We have integrated software development kits (SDKs) or other similar programs of our partners. For details, see Third-Party SDK List.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all personal data you submit to us is correct. Huawei is committed to maintaining the accuracy and completeness of your personal data and keeping it up-to-date.
As required by applicable laws, you may:
1. Have the right to access your specific personal data held by us.
2. Request us to update or correct your inaccurate personal data.
3. Reject or restrict our use of your personal data.
4. Request us to delete your personal data.

Note that we may decline your request if we reasonably believe that the request is fraudulent, unfeasible, or may jeopardize the privacy of others. As permitted by applicable laws, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, withdrawal does not affect the legitimacy or effectiveness of how we process your personal data based on your consent before the withdrawal is made; nor does it affect any data processing based on another legal basis other than your consent.

The security of your personal data is important to us. We endeavor to protect your data to the fullest extent from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss by adopting appropriate physical, management, and technical measures. For example, we use cryptographic technologies for data confidentiality, protection mechanisms to prevent attacks, and access control mechanisms to permit only authorized access to your personal data. We also provide training on security and privacy protection for employees to raise their awareness of personal data protection. While we take the utmost care to protect your personal data, please note that no security measures are completely infallible.
If you want to modify or delete your personal data, log in to DME IQ using a computer or contact your administrator. You can choose to deregister your account. After you deregister your account, we will stop providing products and services for this account, and delete or anonymize your personal data without special legal requirements. You can log in to the Huawei website account system to deregister your account. For details, see the help document.
Generally speaking, our websites, applications, products, and services are not intended for children.
If you are a child under the laws of your country or region, you cannot register or use the websites, applications, products, or services without the consent of your parent or guardian.
If you are the parent or guardian of a child and believe that we may have collected personal data related to the child, please contact us in time according to the description in this Policy. We will try to delete related data as soon as possible.
Huawei is a multinational company. As such, the personal data we collect may be processed or accessed in countries or regions where you use our products or services, or transmitted across borders to other countries or regions where we or our affiliates, service providers, or business partners are located.
Different jurisdictions may differ in terms of data protection laws. In such circumstances, we take appropriate measures to ensure that data is processed as required by this Policy and applicable laws. For example, when transferring your personal data from the EU to countries or regions that the EU members have not acknowledged as having an adequate level of data protection, we will take all legal mechanisms to secure your personal data, including signing standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, requesting for your consent on the transferring of your personal data, or implementing security measures like anonymizing personal data before the transfer. We reserve the right to update or modify this Policy at any time. The Policy published here will be considered the latest one and is effective immediately. If we make major changes to this Policy, we may notify you through different channels, for example, posting a notice on our website or sending you a direct notice.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, and you believe your legitimate rights and/or interests were harmed during our handling of your personal data, you can file a complaint or lawsuit with data protection authorities or officials with jurisdiction.
When your personal data is processed by Huawei in accordance with this Policy, the Huawei entity that provides you with products or services, or that has signed or is about to sign a contract with you, is the handler of the related personal data.
Note: Due to differences in local laws and languages, local versions of this Policy may differ slightly from this version. In the case of any conflicts, the local version shall prevail.
